About Torey

Torey Collins, LCSW

I am a mom of two energetic kiddos that keep me on my toes. Becoming a therapist was not always the plan. I originally planned  to be a school social worker and work in the education field. I pretty quickly realized that my passion is being a support and advocate for my clients and families, outside of the education system.

Although I am from the Bay Area, I spent my first few years in the field working in and around Chicago as a case manager, sexual assault counselor and general therapist. My time in Chicago afforded me the privilege to work with people from all walks of life. It taught me the true meaning of resilience and how to support people in finding their own strength.

My goal as a therapist is to provide safety and comfort during times of stress and anxiety for those I work with. Through talk therapy, I hope to support you by asking reflective questions, holding space for your feelings and talking through any challenges you are experiencing.

My approach to therapy can be described as grounded, non-judgmental and down-to-earth. Yes, we will deep dive into past trauma and anything that is standing in your way of progress. However, we will also carve out time to celebrate the small victories that you are making on a daily basis.

I am passionate about this work and I look forward to supporting you on your journey!

Specialty Areas

If you are a teen, young adult, or parent who finds yourself feeling anxious, disconnected or overwhelmed, I am here to help guide you toward positive, lasting change.

YOUNG ADULTS

My practice includes working with young adults who are transitioning to a new stage in life, including school, work, or relationships. By encouraging young adults to lean into their passions and values we can work to create a meaningful life.

TEENS

I help teens learn how to work with their anxiety and depression and use their emotions as a guide to self-awareness. Together, we will safely explore your thoughts and feelings.

PARENTS

I work with overwhelmed and anxious parents who are struggling to connect with their kiddos. Together we will grow to understand how to communicate with the individual child and let go of the pressures created by the outside world.
